Overview

Marigold

Editorial system and three issues of Marigold, an independent quarterly magazine about slow living, plants, and small joys. I designed the masthead, the typographic system, and the hand-drawn botanical illustrations that anchor every cover.

The brief was a magazine that feels like a long afternoon — unhurried, generous, a little old-fashioned in the best way. I built the masthead from chunky rounded display lettering and paired it with a quiet text system in a warm humanist serif, leaving room for the botanical line drawings to carry the emotional weight on each cover. Three issues in, Marigold has built a small but loyal readership, and most subscribers tell me they keep the back issues stacked on their coffee tables.
